Do you live in Kilcormac, Cloontuskert or Lanesborough and have a connection to the peatlands or Bord na Mona housing? Are you interested in the future of your community? You are invited to a community gathering and workshop in Kilcormac, Co. Offaly.
It is a part of “Workers’ Villages”, a project by the Irish Architecture Foundation that connects architects with communities directly affected by climate actions, with a particular focus with Bord na Móna villages.
We will start with a walk through Lough Boora where project architect Caelan Bristow will introduce the projects she designed for the innovative park. After this, we will get an introduction to the architecture of Frank Gibney in St Cormac’s Park, followed by a visit to see the famous Kilcormac Pieta. After a break for lunch, there will a visioning workshop in the community hall as well as a chance to share some of the unique Workers’ Village culture.
